Commonly adopting this posture can result in thoracic (upper back), neck, shoulder and arm pain as well as sensations of numbness, pins & needles and burning. This can extend as far as the fingertips, and at times even contribute to common problems like Carpal Tunnel Syndrome.
Having a slouched posture can lead to these symptoms as it may place pressure on the nerves and blood vessels that pass through a narrow passage between the ribs and collar bone (clavicle) called the Thoracic Outlet.
